Position Summary
Lit Financial is seeking a self-directed IT Support & Security Specialist to keep our people productive and our Windows fleet secure, patched, and compliant. This role owns Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, and networking. Our engineering team handles application infrastructure on AWS, so this isn’t a cloud or DevOps role. It’s a hands-on individual-contributor role — you’ll take full ownership of the systems and tasks in your scope, but you won’t manage people. You’ll take direction from technology leadership on architecture and policy, and we’ll rely on you to bring feedback and recommendations on how we implement IT and security.
The IT Support Specialist plays a key role in onboarding new employees by provisioning laptops, configuring user accounts, and ensuring all technology is ready for a seamless first-day experience. This position also helps maintain secure, compliant, and efficient technology operations across the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the Windows laptop fleet in Microsoft Intune — enrollment, compliance policies, app deployment, patch/update compliance, BitLocker encryption, and remote wipe.
- Monitor and triage endpoint security alerts (Microsoft Defender / EDR), maintain security baselines, and respond to phishing reports.
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID — users, groups, licensing, MFA, and SaaS access via single sign-on; operate Conditional Access and device-compliance policies under direction.
- Own onboarding and offboarding end to end — provision and deprovision accounts, licenses, and devices; ship and configure laptops for remote hires.
- Provide Tier 1 support — hardware, software, printer, network, connectivity, and password/account issues.
- Administer the Ubiquiti/UniFi office network (Wi-Fi, VLANs, guest access) and keep office IT running.
- Maintain asset inventory and documentation and promote cybersecurity awareness across the team.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in IT support, help desk, or systems administration.
- Hands-on Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration — users, groups, licensing, MFA, and SSO — including Conditional Access and Zero Trust concepts.
- Windows endpoint management with Microsoft Intune (or comparable MDM) and device deployment.
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, wireless) and hands-on Ubiquiti/UniFi administration.
- Scripting and automation with PowerShell.
- Experience supporting remote/hybrid users and with endpoint protection / EDR tooling.
- Strong troubleshooting, clear communication, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience (preferred).
